old elk double wheat bourbon

53.55% ABV 107.1 proof

Old Elk has been a major player in the craft whiskey game for quite a while now. With their unique bottle designs, solid core line up, and spectacular limited runs, they’ve continued to make waves in the industry time and time again. This bottle is no different.

A part of their “Master’s Blend” Series, the Old Elk Double Wheat is a unique blend of their two wheat offerings (Old Elk Straight Wheat Whiskey & Old Elk Wheated Bourbon) resulting in a final blended mashbill of 71.5% wheat, 25% corn, and 3.5% malted barley. This whiskey is unlike anything else on the market, layering the soft & sweet characteristics of a wheat whiskey with the depth and body of a bourbon. A truly unique experience, this pour is a delightful journey from start to finish.

Nose: fruity and crisp with a touch of mint alongside cinnamon toast and butterscotch. Dark chocolate, cherries, baking spices, oak, dark sugars, and a touch of orange blossom.

Palette: buttered brown sugar and ginger-dusted pecans, cocoa powder, baking spices, soft wheat, a bit of sweetness almost like a hawaiian dinner roll.

Finish: oak, red apple, nutmeg, warm pie crust
